AWF JANUARY - JULY 2007 YEAR AWARDS
The January – July, 2007 season is over, and finishes with AWF's end of season awards. The End of Season Awards are judged based on the acheivements and reaction of the fans of the individual wrestlers for the 6 month period.
Rookie of January – July, 2007 Season: Bluey Bonza
Bluey Bonza debuted in AWF in January and made a mark immediately with fans with his Aussie swagger and hard hitting style. Bonza has appeared regularly on AWF events since, and his hard work in the gym and ring will start to no doubt pay off in the future. |
Most Improved January – July, 2007 Season: Chris X
Chris X moved into contention for the Young Lion’s and Tag Team Title’s during the season, receiving Title shots and coming close to winning on a few occasions. Chris improved his physique, adding muscle, and also improved his in ring skills by consistently training at the AWF School of Pro-Wrestling. At only 19 years old Chris X’s achievements are already great, and with continued development he will become a future player in the AWF. |
Tag Team of January – July, 2007 Season: “The Platinum Players” - Kid Dynamite & JT Robinson
JT Robinson & Kid Dynamite advanced via a tounament to the Tag Team finals and defeat Billy Flyswat & Chris X to become the first AWF Tag Team Champions on 25 May. Since winning the belts they have dominated the division, often with help from third member Steve Ravenous, and remain strong champions at the end of the season. |
Young Lion of the January – July, 2007 Season: Powerhouse Theo
Powerhouse Theo defeated Scotty Club on 23 March in Cardiff to become Young Lion’s Champion and remained undefeated until season end. Theo showed dominence in the division defeating all top contenders, and his take on anybody approach has kept him popular with AWF audiences.

AWF Open Division Wrestler of the January – July, 2007 Season: TNT
TNT defeated Cima in a heart stopping bout in Cardiff on 7 January for the AWF Australasian Title and has reigned as champion for the remainder of the season. During the 6 month reign TNT defeated some of the world’s best wrestlers, including Steve Corino for the AWA World Title, and other former champions such as Bryan Danielson, Billy Kidman and Austin Aries. |
AWF congratulates all January to July Award winners, and wishes them and the rest of the roster continued success and development in 2007.
