Group History: The Detonation Crew is the most explosive faction in AWF and they do things their own way. They say they won’t be walked all over, and will do whatever has to be done inside the ring to get the job done. They say you can love us or hate us, but when the smoke clears you will respect The Detonation Crew.
The foundation of the Detonation Crew’s coming together is derived from mutual respect and friendship
TNT & Billy Flyswat had teamed on occasion during 2007. Flyswat & Chris X regularly tag teamed. Powerhouse Theo and Chris X had engaged in evenly matched respectful Young Lions Title bouts. Things began to further take shape as TNT was saved by a post bout attack from the Freakshow at Fairy Meadow, NSW on 18 January by Powerhouse Theo
After successfully defending the AWF Australasian Championship against Steve Ravenous at Blacktown on 19 January, 2008 with assistance from a well orchestrated counter to the Platinum Players in the form of friends Powerhouse Theo, Billy Flyswat and Chris X, TNT announced that he had had enough, and was forming "The Detonation Crew"
TNT stated that the new group’s immediate objective would be to stop the Players and anyone else that gets in their way, and restore the balance of power in the AWF
TNT & Powerhouse Theo thwarted the attack of The Freakshow, while the newly named “Swat Team X” of Billy Flyswat & Chris X, would focus on Surf Club’s Tag Team Titles
Mark Hilton’s winning of “The Australia’s Cup” on 1 March prompted the Crew to ask the new number 1 contender to join the group. Hilton said he would think about the proposition and answer at the 3 May Blacktown event
TNT lost the AWF Australasian Championship to Raven on 11 April in Penrith, NSW when distracted by Mark Hilton and DDTed and pinned by Raven
TNT regained the AWF Australasian Championship in Palmerston North, New Zealand via pinfall after a low blow followed by “The Detonator&rdquo
At AWF “Maynia” at Blacktown, NSW on 3 May TNT announced there would be a new member of the Detonation Crew and introduced Mark Hilton. Hilton said he had thought about it and said he wouldn’t be joining, introduced his own group “Southern Cross” and challenged TNT for the AWF Title later in the card
Swat Team X defeated Surf Club on 3 May at Blacktown, NSW to become AWF Tag Team Champions. In the final stages of the match Theo & TNT seemingly had “Bodacious” Bo in a compromising position on the floor and Surf Club were distracted. Hoffman lept to the floor to Bo’s aid, and Bo escaped under the ring. Bo came out the other side and took her leg brace off and passed it to Chris X who blasted Club, and Swat Team X nailed Scotty with the double fishermans bomb to win the titles
After the bout The Detonation Crew celebrated the victory with TNT announcing the newest member of the Detonation Crew as “Bombshell” Bo
With the Crew in possession of two of the three AWF Championships, they have established themselves as the most dominant group in the AWF in early 2008, and their blasting of the competition looks set to continue for some time to come.
