The January to July AWF season is over and it was quite an interesting one. Steve Ravenous ended Dean Draven’s nine month AWF Australian Championship reign, and successfully defended the title to come in strong at the start of the new season as AWF Champion… Jay Law (formerly Mislead Youth) did similar, and eliminated Gravity and the rest of the Young Lion’s to come away as Young Lion’s Champion and Young Lion of the Half Season... Mark Hilton won the first annual Australia’s Cup by defeating Rick Oshea in the final, and for this and other outstanding bouts during the January to July period was named Wrestler of the Half Season… Many new wretlers made debuts in AWF rings during the season, including Massive Q, Shane Annigans, Boadie Jaden and Shorty. More new AWF talent will debut in the July to December Season… AWF would like to thank all of it’s wrestlers and the fans who helped make the season successful and enjoyable, and look forward to their continued participation and support in the upcoming July to December Season, which promises to be bigger, better and badder. July 1 saw a packed AWF Dojo, with a fun night had by all. It was a good closure to the first season, and good new start for the second. Some new names also appeared, including Powerhouse Theo, Arson 3 and Toxin. Overall a kick start for things to come in the July to December Season. Scotty Club has returned with a bang, defeating Kid Dynamite, Zander Bathory, and Chris X upon his return. His former undefeated reign as young Lion’s Champion and recent wins have stepped him into AWF Title contention, and he will receive a shot at Steve Ravenous’ Australian Championship on 2 September at Blacktown. Dynamite has commented that he is livid, and will be back. He screamed he hasn’t forgotten about Hilton, and Jay Law’s Young Lion’s Title is back on his mind also. Dynamite has began physiotherapy and will return when healed. TNT will be representing AWF in Japan in July and August wrestling for the Zero-1 Max organization.
